StoryGraph ("we", "us", "our") is operated by StoryGraph Tech, reachable at hello@storygraph.tech. This policy covers our website (storygraph.tech) and the StoryGraph mobile application (Android and iOS).

Account information: name, email address, and organisation when you register.
Profile information: job title, publication, profile photo, and beat preferences that you voluntarily provide.
Usage data: pages visited, features used, and actions taken within the app (e.g. pitch responses, story idea interactions).
Device information: device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers collected automatically when you use the mobile app.
Communications: messages exchanged between journalists and PR professionals through the in-app chat feature.
Publicly available editorial data: published bylines, beat coverage history, and publication affiliations sourced from public records to build journalist profiles on the platform.

3. How We Use Your Data

To create and manage your account and authenticate your identity.
To deliver pitch cards, story ideas, and campaign content relevant to you.
To facilitate communication between journalists and PR teams.
To improve and personalise the StoryGraph platform.
To send transactional notifications (e.g. new pitch received, reply received).
To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. AI-Assisted Review & Data Accuracy

StoryGraph uses a combination of artificial intelligence and human review to source, analyse, and present data on the platform — including journalist profiles, beat classifications, coverage history, and relevance scoring.

AI processes data at scale; human reviewers periodically verify and refine that data for quality and accuracy. Despite these efforts, we do not guarantee that any information on the platform — particularly details relating to individual journalists, their beats, affiliations, or contact information — is complete, current, or error-free.

StoryGraph does not warrant absolute data correctness. Journalist details in particular may be outdated, incomplete, or inaccurate due to the nature of publicly available sources and the pace at which editorial roles change. Users are encouraged to verify critical information independently before acting on it.

If you believe your profile information is incorrect, please contact us at hello@storygraph.tech and we will review and update it promptly.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

Google Firebase — authentication and data storage. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Vercel — web hosting and deployment.
Railway — API and database hosting.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing hello@storygraph.tech. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your data.
Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
